Become a muralist at Riverfest 2023!
Have you ever dreamed of helping paint a mural? Riverfest 2023 is your chance to make that dream a reality!
We have partnered with talented local artists Chris Garcia and Nicky Rocho of Brickmob to create two stunning murals that perfectly capture the fun and spirit of Riverfest. The Brickmob crew is responsible for incredible public art all over Wichita, and we are absolutely thrilled to collaborate with them. Chris and Nicky will provide all the necessary supplies and instruction, so just bring your creativity!

Painting Locations and Times
The Main Mural
Located at Waco and Douglas in front of the Wichita Chamber of Commerce. You will be painting directly on the framed walls of a future Wichita Habitat for Humanity home!
- Monday through Friday (June 5 to June 9): 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
- Saturday (June 10): 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Kids’ Corner Mural
We have a special painting station set up just for young artists!
- Daily (June 3 to June 10): 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Bonus: Explore a Wichita Habitat home!
The canvas for the main mural is actually one side of a framed Habitat for Humanity house. Sponsored teams will build the framework during a private event on Sunday, and the public is invited to walk through the framed home starting Monday, June 5!
Our staff will be on site to chat about our affordable housing work right here in the community. Come learn how you can get involved as a volunteer, a ReStore shopper, a donor, and more.
WAIT! THERE’S MORE: Before you leave, grab a Sharpie and sign the studs of the house! It is a wonderful opportunity to write notes of encouragement and good wishes to Isaac and Any. They are the future homeowners who will help build and eventually purchase this new, affordable home alongside our amazing volunteers.
