No matter who we are or where we come from, we all deserve to have a decent life. We deserve to feel strength and stability every day. We deserve to know we have the power to take care of ourselves and build our own futures.

At Wichita Habitat for Humanity, this is what unites us. Through shelter, we empower. Our shared vision is a world where everyone has a safe, affordable place to live.

People in our community partner with us to build their own homes alongside volunteers. They purchase the homes and pay an affordable mortgage. With our help, Habitat homeowners achieve the strength, stability and self-reliance they need to build a better life for themselves and their families.

Wichita Habitat for Humanity became an official affiliate of Habitat for Humanity in October 1986. Since then, we’ve partnered with more than 200 families, providing them with a hand up so they can create healthy, successful futures.

"For a community to be whole and healthy, it must be based on people's love and concern for each other."

- Millard Fuller, Habitat Founder

Our Vision

A world where everyone has a decent place to live.

Our Mission Statement

Seeking to put God's love into action, Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities, and hope.

All Are Welcome

We have an open-door policy: All who believe that everyone needs a safe and affordable place to live are welcome to help with the work, regardless of race, religion, age, gender, political views or any of the other distinctions that too often divide people. In short, Habitat welcomes volunteers and supporters from all backgrounds and also serves people in need of housing regardless of race or religion. As a matter of policy, Habitat for Humanity International and its affiliated organizations do not proselytize. This means that Habitat will not offer assistance on the expressed or implied condition that people must either adhere to or convert to a particular faith, or listen and respond to messaging designed to induce conversion to a particular faith.
