Koch, Inc. to ignite hope through volunteerism at Rock the Block Piatt
Wichita Habitat for Humanity is excited to announce that Koch, Inc. employees will begin volunteering their time and skills at Rock the Block Piatt. Work is scheduled from July 15 to September 5, marking a significant collaboration that highlights a shared commitment to community revitalization and empowering families on their journey to homeownership.
Rock the Block Piatt, a monumental effort by Wichita Habitat for Humanity, focuses on rehabilitating homes in northeast Wichita, breathing new life into a vital part of our community. This initiative isn’t just about renovating houses; it’s designed to create safe, affordable, and welcoming homes for families striving for a brighter future. Families achieve this dream through Wichita Habitat’s homeownership program. This program empowers future homeowners by providing essential homebuyer education, guiding them through the responsibilities of homeownership, and requiring them to partner with Wichita Habitat by contributing “sweat equity.” This means working alongside volunteers and professional staff on the construction of their own homes and the homes of others. This hands-on involvement ensures they understand the commitment and pride that comes with owning their home.
Over the next few months, more than 375 dedicated volunteers are anticipated to join Wichita Habitat for Humanity in rehabilitating these homes. The enthusiasm and commitment of volunteers, particularly those from Koch, Inc., are instrumental in making this dream a reality. It’s incredibly exciting to witness the tangible transformation that community revitalization brings, directly impacting the lives of many families who are actively working towards the stability and pride of homeownership.
This partnership with Koch, Inc. underscores the deep impact that corporate engagement and volunteerism have on building stronger communities and fostering hope. Every hammer swing, every brush stroke, every high-five, and every volunteer hour contributes to a ripple effect of positive change, providing families with a foundation for a prosperous future.
Together, we build the future.
