Our mission is to empower women to help families build strength, stability and independence.

Juliana is the 2023 Women Build Homebuyer. She applied to our homeownership program because she wants to raise her son in a permanent home instead of renting. Juliana immigrated to the United States from the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Since coming here in 2019, Juliana has completed coursework to become a Certified Nursing Assistant. She now works at Reflection Living Senior Living. "I have been a refugee all my life," she said. That is changing because of volunteers and donors who support Habitat's affordable housing work.
Before she purchases her home on an affordable mortgage, Juliana will complete 250 hours of sweat equity. She’ll also complete 40 hours of financial literacy and home maintenance courses. This will ensure she’ll be a successful homeowner.
