Unlocking the Door to Homeownership: Protective Parenting
In this class we will discuss personal safety for children. The topics covered in this class include background information on child sexual abuse; offender characteristics; behavioral and physical indicators of sexual abuse; how to talk with children about personal safety; ideas on how to respond if a child discloses information; how to support the healing process should sexual abuse occur and how a parent can set a good foundation for children for when the time comes for them to be in relationships as older teens and adults.
This is an elective course for family partners.
Wichita Habitat for Humanity offers FREE homebuyer education classes for our family partners and anyone in the community who wants to learn about money management, the home buying process, how to maintain your home, safety, and many other helpful topics.
Registration is required. Attending an educational course is free and we advise arriving on time as these sessions will start within 5-10 minutes after the start time.
