If you ever wanted to help create a mural you’ll be able to make that dream come true at Riverfest 2023!
We’ve partnered with Chris Garcia and Nicky Rocho of Brickmob to create two amazing murals that capture the FUN and SPIRIT of Riverfest.
LOCATIONS AND PAINTING TIMES:
At Waco and Douglas, in front of the Wichita Chamber of Commerce. On the side of the framed walls of a future Wichita Habitat for Humanity home! Monday through Friday (June 5-10) from 5-9 p.m. and Saturday (June 10) from 11 a.m.-9 p.m.
We’ll have a mural for young artists at the Kids’ Corner Saturday-Friday (June 3-June 10) from 6-8 p.m.
We’re super excited about this opportunity to create these murals. The crew from Brickmob has created incredible murals all over the city and now we are partnering with them.
All supplies and instruction will be provided by Chris and Nicky.
BONUS: Walk through a framed Wichita Habitat home!
The mural you’ll help create will be on one side of the framed walls of a Habitat house. (Sponsored teams will frame the walls of the future home during a private event on Sunday.)
You can walk through the framed house starting Monday, June 5! We’ll have all kinds of information about our program, too. Our staff will be there to tell you about our affordable housing work in your community and how you can get involved as a volunteer, a ReStore shopper and donor, a donor, and more!
WAIT! THERE’S MORE: You can sign the studs of the house! We’ll have Sharpies so you can offer good wishes to Isaac and Any, who will build their new, affordable home alongside volunteers and purchase it.
