Financial Education Courses

Wichita Habitat for Humanity offers free financial literacy classes for our future homebuyers and anyone in the community who wants to learn about money management, the home buying process, how to maintain your home, safety and many other helpful topics.
Classes are on Tuesdays from 6-7:30 p.m. at our offices, 130 E. Murdock St..
  • Tree and Shrub Maintenance. Tuesday, Oct. 3.
  • Homebuying 101. Tuesday, Oct. 10.
  • Money Smart 4: Managing Debt and Using Credit Cards. Tuesday, Oct. 17. After this course you'll understand the high cost of debt and identify lower-cost options for the future. Know how credit cards work so you can more effectively shop around for one that meets your needs.
  • Being a Good Neighbor. Tuesday, Oct. 24.
  • No Class Tuesday, Oct. 31.
  • Money Smart 5. Tuesday, November 7. Ways to build assets, including buying a car and getting training and education. Ways to recognize, respond to and reduce risk of identity theft, along with strategies for protecting other assets.
  • Legal Issues. Tuesday, November 14. Learn about assets, equity, liens. We will talk about life insurance, wills, advance directives, probate and foreclosure in Kansas.
  • Home Maintenance. Tuesday, November 21.
