Wichita Habitat for Humanity offers free homebuyer education classes for our future homebuyers and anyone in the community who wants to learn about money management, the home buying process how to maintain your home, safety and many other helpful topics.
All courses are FREE and OPEN TO THE PUBLIC

  • March 30, Thursday, at 5:30 p.m. Homebuying 101: Your home will be your biggest expense and likely the most important. Find out about the process in Homebuying 101. Evergreen Community Center and Library.

These classes are in person at our offices, 130 E. Murdock St., Suite 102, in 2023, on Tuesday nights from 6-7;30 p.m.

March 28, Home Safety: What does it take to make your home safe? We'll look at fire prevention tips and much more.

April 4, Money Smart 4: Understanding debt is the first step to managing it! You'll also learn more about how credit cards work so you can more effectively shop around for one that meets your needs.

April 11, Legal Issues: Learn about assets, equity, liens. We will talk about life insurance, wills, advance directives, probate and foreclosure in Kansas.

April 18, Telling Your Story: No one understands the need for affordable housing better than you because you have lived it. We'll look at ways to share your story and advocate for decent housing for everyone.

April 25, Homebuying 101: Your home will be your biggest expense and likely the most important. Find out about the process in Homebuying 101.

May 9, Money Smart 5: Learn how to build assets, including buying a car and getting training and education. Ways to recognize, respond to and reduce risk of identity theft.

May 16,  Home Maintenance: If you take care of your home the benefits are huge. We'll cover what you need to do to keep maintain your home and avoid costly deferred maintenance issues.
